Yes it's that time of year again!

What makes 6 years different than 5.49 years? Nothing really, but anniversaries are our marking points, our milestones, something to mark the passage of time. This year we celebrate our 6th Anniversary and very properly too. We get to Celebrate May Day, Beltaine and our Wedding Anniversary in the middle of the woods!

Legend has it... When m@ and holly met in 1996 there was an instant attraction on many levels (all lasting attractions are), they circled around one another for years, lived in the same houses, played muzik with the same folks and never ever once acted on their passions for each other. After not seeing each other for a few years they were reunited on m@'s birthday, Jan 4 2002 and quickly caught up on the time that had passed. Within a few months they decided to collaborate on a song m@ was working on with the working title "Estat" after that came "Alias" which was renamed "Hordes" and with that the Quilt of Vinland was born.

If ever the subject of marriage came up around her, Holly would spend the whole time being disgusted reciting CRASS lyrics and generally making fun of the idea but what she was saying was that it IS none of "their" business what we do, who are "they" to hold the Certificate. Time passed and more and more she realized that if there was going to be someone she'd marry it would be m@ and after a concert they played in Northampton, MA at a place that was once called Harry's Music Night Spot, Holly proposed to m@, to which he replied with smiling astonishment, "Are YOU drunk?!". He laughed, cired and kissed her but never answered. The next morning they were bragging about it to friends and she leaned over to m@ and said,
"Well, You never DID say yes or no."
"I didn't? Yes. Yes. Yes!"
The next day Holly began to work on their "engagement feet" which were two Crow feet found by Mt. Monadnock (NH), she bound up the knees with hemp twine and shoelace and weaved two necklaces which they wore for a year until their wedding day.

Wedding Day: Get up, drive to a tattoo shop, meet a guy who was getting his finger tattooed in a few weeks with a person he loved so he gives them a deal ($30 for both). Holly went first and while she was ogling her finger m@ was getting his done, after m@'s was done and they paid up they said their goodbyes to the tattoo artist and went to band practice...

Whenever May 1st rolled around they were broke, hungry and struggling to keep their spirits up. This year is no different in that sense but one thing is different, they found a ride to the middle of the woods in Oregon where they will be unplugged from April 28th - May 5th. No phones. No computers. Just the birds and the bees. From there they will hitchhike (and hopefully get rides) to two town neither of them has ever visted, Portland with their gear and play 3 wonderful shows organized for them by Jesse (who they are excited to finally meet) 5/6, 5/7 and 5/8, after the last show in Portland they will hitchhike (and hopefully get rides) to Seattle on 5/9 so they are well rested for a perfect evening in Seattle on 5/10 which was organized by Libby Bulloff and Willow Brugh (who they are also excited to finally meet).

Thus wrapping up their stay on the West Coast which will have lasted from Dec.11th to May 11th.

This year IS different! M@ and Holly sucessfully dodged the bitter New England winter, said fuck it and went out west with a handful of folks to contact and ended up making a gazillion friends, playing awesome shows and missing the hell out of their dog-ter, fern, who has been safely nooked in the crook of m@'s Parent's legs whenever possible.

The bus awaits! We are coming!
We have wonderufl news for you to peruse!

These are the times, my friends. And these are the days. Where the world becomes malleable, palpable. When novelty and genius are within our reach. We are cautioned against being passionate about these things by tales of progress turned to greed and of technology turning on us. And yet, the golden light is just right, the clocks are synchronizing, the stars are in alignment.
- c. lantz

This is what we celebrate tonight. We celebrate these transient times, with these transient artists.

Wearables, craftables, and edibles provided by a plethora of local and regional artisans. We will take a dinner break (with DJ) at 6:30 pm - please bring your own sack meal, a picnic to share, or food can be acquired from two of our vendors. Vegan options available. Adult beverages can be purchased by 21+ individuals.

Willow and I are so excited about bringing HUMANWINE to Seattle. Our friends from Sock Dreams will be arriving from Portland to vend excellent foot/legwear.

Larger poster is here. Leave me (Libby) a comment if you’d like to help out at the event or hang flyers–I have an 11×17 hi-res PDF in the wings for print-yr-own.

Spread the word.
All are welcome.

Thank you.

HUMANWINE will be joined by A Far Cry for a full 2 HOUR SET! If you have a camera bring it to this show. Not to say HUMANWINE is wrapping up but once this show is complete we will compile all live material of our new songs and get them ready for release. The New CD will be available before the end of the summer out on Nervous Relatives Records. HUMANWINE just released Mass Exodus the ep through Nervous Relatives Records. Get a copy here.

A Far Cry (Boston's proudly unconducted Chamber Orchestra)We are a group of musicians bound together by our desire to share great music and great art with people who are young, people who are mature, those near, and far. The music we play is music we love, and music we don’t want to live without. We have a mission to bring together all the loves of our lives, those that range from film, dance, and visual art, to our love for each person who lives the joy and suffering (and in-betweenness) that inspire the art of life. We are excited to have you join us as we discover how we can communicate our passion with different audiences, with different artists and with each other, to be a part of the cries of need and celebration that make up the world in which we live.

The Boy Who Spoke Clouds (AUS) The Boy Who Spoke Clouds might be described by some as indigenous, world, tribal, folk, neo folk, electroacoustic, or some amalgamation of the above. Imagine Sufjan Stevens meets Jesu. The Boy Who Spoke Clouds is an intimate portrait of Adam Casey and his native Australia and emotes something lost in much of today's music; no doubt having a tendency to put down roots wherever he is listened to. The Boy Who Spoke Clouds will be launching their debut album (released on Sun Sea Sky Productions) and touring as a three piece band across the Eastcoast of the USA, and the Southcoast of Canada throughout June/July, 2009.

We know some folks who drive from North Carolina, Pennsylvania and far reaching states who are saddened when HUMANWINE plays a 30 minute set, WELL **TONIGHT WILL NOT BE ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS! Expect a full 2 hour program from HUMANWINE!

THEME: Community R.I.C.E! Resist, Inform, Communicate, Enliven!
